4-Day Luxury Rwanda Gorilla & Golden Monkey Safari

Arrive at Kigali International Airport, where your private driver-guide will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Kigali. Settle in and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, embark on a guided Kigali city tour, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial to learn about Rwanda’s history and its remarkable journey of recovery.

Enjoy lunch in Kigali before travelling towards Volcanoes National Park, home to the mountain gorillas of the Virunga Mountains. En route or upon arrival, visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, subject to opening hours and availability, to discover the important work being done to protect gorillas and their habitat.

Arrive at Amarembo by Touch Down and settle into your luxury accommodation surrounded by the dramatic landscapes of northern Rwanda.

Rise early for breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for your gorilla trekking briefing. Accompanied by trained park guides, venture into the forest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family.

The trek can range from a relatively short walk to several hours, depending on the gorillas’ location and forest conditions. Once the gorillas are located, enjoy the permitted one-hour encounter, observing their social interactions and behaviour in their natural habitat.

Return to the lodge for lunch and time to relax. Later, visit Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village for an introduction to Rwandan traditions, music, dance and community life.

Return to Amarembo for dinner and a restful evening.

After an early breakfast, head to Volcanoes National Park for golden monkey tracking. Follow your guides through the forest in search of these energetic primates, recognised for their distinctive golden-orange markings.

After the experience, begin your private transfer to Kigali International Airport, with an en-route lunch as arranged. Your safari concludes upon arrival at the airport.
